Panchiko

This song hurts to hear. Especially today. But its a great song nonetheless. With a great sample.

Im not gonna get into the story behind the band, as its been told by people who can explain it better than I can. Watch Whang's video on it

This song uses a few samples. The first one off the bat you hear comes from the 1964 classic, Dr. Strangelove, as shown below.

The second sample you hear as the chorus kicks it. It samples the classic Sega Saturn game Burning Rangers. Not the kickass theme or an ingame song.

It samples the CD warning you would get for putting it in a CD player. CD Warnings like these were super common and continue into today, despite being more straight forward now.

Lots of games had fun little secret CD warnings like Castlevania SOTN on the PS1

where Alucard will warn you before playing a kickass secret track. However the one on Burning Rangers is a rather simple one. And its kinda the only reason I own the game now

Honestly if Im being frank, this song has been my obsession for fairly dumb reasons.

Took my ex to see Panchiko. Left me the next day. Today about 5, 6 months ago in October.

This song has been stuck in my mind since then. Refuses to leave. Learned to play it on guitar, literally bought a Sega Saturn

just to play the warning on original hardware. Probably unhealthy but in a way, breaking down the song for me has made it easier to come to terms with it.

Good song with an interesting choice of sampling.
